  • A Piedmont plateau has a mountain on one side. Malwa plateau is a Piedmont plateau. Other examples of such plateaus are Patagonian plateau in Argentina, Piedmont plateau in America etc.


  • The Luni is a river of western Rajasthan state, India. It originates in the Pushkar valley of the Aravalli Range, near Ajmer and ends in the marshy lands of Rann of Kutch in Gujarat, after traveling a distance of 530 km.


  • The Arakanyoma range is located in the border of Nagaland and Myanmar. Some part of this mountain range is submerged in the Bay of Bengal.


  • Zojila Pass connects Srinagar with Kargil and Leh. Banihal Pass connects Banihal with Qazigund.

  • Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge type waterfall. It is located in the state of Meghalaya near Cherrapunji.


  • The dhands of western Rajasthan are the example of Aeolian Lake. It is often referred to as Salt lake.


  • The Thermal concept of the origin of monsoon was given by noted astronomer Halley. But there were some faults. Halley overlooked the Coriolis effect and the concept of the passing of latent heat through water vapour.


  • Neyveli of Tamil Nadu is famous for its Lignite deposit. The thickness of the coal is about 10-12 meters. The carbon content in lignite coal is about 30-40% with the moisture content of 20%.


  • Malaj Khand of Madhya Pradesh is famous for its copper mine.


  • Rajasthan is the largest producer of Gypsum (Calcium sulphate) in India. About 99% of the total Gypsum production of India is produced by the state of Rajasthan.


  • Bhadla Solar Park is the world's largest solar park located in India which is spread over a total area of 10,000 acres in Bhadla, Phalodi tehsil, Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, India. The park has total capacity of 2,245 MW.
