The International Gandhi Peace Prize, named after Mahatma Gandhi, is awarded annually by the Government of India. This is an annual award given to individuals and institutions for their contributions towards social, economic and political transformation through non-violence and other Gandhian methods. The award carries ₹ 1 Crore (10 million) in cash, convertible in any currency in the world, a plaque and a citation. It is open to all persons regardless of nationality, race, creed or gender. First awarded in 1995.
The Indira Gandhi Prize or the Indira Gandhi Peace Prize or the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development is the prestigious award accorded annually by Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust to individuals or organisations in recognition of creative efforts toward promoting international peace, development and a new international economic order; ensuring that scientific discoveries are used for the larger good of humanity, and enlarging the scope of freedom. The prize carries a cash award of 2.5 million Indian rupees and a citation. First awarded in 1986.
The Tagore Award is an award given for cultural harmony. Established in 2011 by Government of India, it is given for outstanding achievement in fostering harmony and universalism and values of cultural harmony especially in conflict or extreme situations through innovative systems/strategies and which have an enduring and transformational impact. The first award was given in 2012 to Pandit Ravi Shankar.
The National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremonies in India. Established in 1954, Presented by Directorate of Film Festivals.It is considered the Indian equivalent of the American Academy Awards. Nari Shakti Puraskar (formerly Stree Shakti Puraskar), literally meaning "Woman Power Award", is India's highest civilian award for recognizing the achievements and contributions of women. The Nari Shakti Puraskar is conferred on individual women, public and private institutions and public departments for their activism and/ or their contributions to the cause of women's empowerment. The award, instituted in the year 1999 by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. The awards are given away by the President of India every year on 8 March, International Women's Day at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
The National Bravery Awards are a set of awards given annually to about 25 Indian children below 16 years of age for "meritorious acts of bravery against all odds." The awards are given by the Government of India and the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW). The award was instituted in 1957.
The National Bal Shree Honour is awarded to creative children in the age group of 9–16 years. National Bal Shree Honour is constituted by National Bal Bhawan, an autonomous body of Ministry of Human Resource Development (India).
Champions of Change is an Indian award, for promoting Gandhian values, (Swachata), community service and social development.(in Aspirational district in india), selected by constitutional jury members headed by K. G. Balakrishnan Former Chief Justice of India and Former Chairman NHRC. The foundation was created in 2011. The award ceremony takes place every year in the month of December.
Sardar Patel National Unity Award: One of the highest civilian award of the country equal to Bharat Ratna, was instituted in the year 2019. Any person without distinction of race, occupation, position, gender or religion is eligible for this award. It is awarded in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order in the unity and the integrity of the nation.
